The ECS Tuning?MQB Cast Aluminum Intercooler Upgrade?boosts power and lowers intercooler outlet temps by maximizing core volume and more efficiently dispelling heat over the OEM sandwichmounted intercooler. Designed and engineered by our inhouse R&D Team to replace the underperforming stock intercooler, our intercooler is more efficient at cooling the turbocharged air?with less pressure drop than stock. The factory?tube and fin intercooler is not up to the task of shedding heat efficiently at higher power levels. If you plan to go above stock boost levels an intercooler upgrade is a must. With our ECS Tuning OELocation Intercooler Upgrade we recorded lower intercooler outlet temperatures, lower pressure drop?and an increase in cooling system efficiency.?
Our design features?high quality cast aluminum end tanks with?integral flow dividers on the intercooler inlet for even flow distribution across our massive 24.5? x 16.5? x 2.0? {808.5 in?} aluminum bar and plate?core,?which lends to an increase in volume of +39% over the OEM GTI intercooler,?for maximum heat dissipation. Our intercooler was inhouse engineered to provide a bolton cooling solution for the VW and Audi MQB Gen3 platform. Through our inhouse evaluation on our ECS Shop MK7 GTI, we measured a maximum?increase of +20?WHP @ 5,750 RPM and +18 WTQ @ 5,750 RPM along with an increase of +22% in cooling efficiency at redline and 90? F. lower intercooler outlet temperatures.?

End tanks are TIG welded to the intercooler core and the complete assembly is pressure tested to 3.5 BAR at 0% leak down to ensure sealing capacity

We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leadingedge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our inhouse 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.
