Aftermarket radio installations in MINIs are rarely a plug and play operation. They usually require extensive wiring, additional adapters, and a dashboard trim kit. The result is a head unit that sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't match the design of the interior.

Bremmen Parts is aware of these issues and is proud to offer a direct-fit multimedia head unit that alleviates the inherent issues with universal aftermarket radios. Bremmen's Android Multimedia System features a 7" capacitive touch screen and fits snugly within the uniquely shaped factory radio cut-out while bolting into the same locations as the factory radio. The included wiring harness allows for a nearly plug and play installation.

We found that some 2011+ cars need the extension for (Black Fakra FM/AM Cable connection) as the factory harness is not long enough to reach without modifications.   

Lower dash console is a stock fitment 2011+  for CD DVD diver.

Lower dash console 2007-2010 will either need modified or converted to MINI Genuine part 51169206835 auto air-conditioning  or  51169206836  NON auto air-conditioning (Manual version)  for CD DVD diver.

Installation Tips:

• In most cases, the included external microphone is not necessary as the microphone built into the radio face plate is sufficient.
• Later models may require an additional wire to tap into a switched 12v source. (The terminal marked "75X" with a yellow sticker directly above the dead pedal is a good switched 12v source in MK4 models)
• Fully test the radio before you finish the installation.

Limitations:

• Not compatible with CD changer.
• Music cannot be listened to directly off of a smartphone or iPod via USB cable. Music must be played off of a device plugged into the stereo auxiliary input, streamed over Bluetooth, played off of a USB flash drive or MicroSD card, or imported to the radio's flash storage.
