Transmission mounts secure the transmission to the chassis. The mounts limit movement while damping vibration that would otherwise enter the cabin. Worn mounts will cause damage to other driveline components shortening there service life leading to additional repairs. Both the transmission and engine mounts work together and should be inspected for wear or damage at each oil change.
