INTERCOOLER FEATURES:
The ECS Tuning Upgraded MQB Cast Aluminum Intercooler boosts power and lowers intercooler outlet temps by maximizing core volume and more efficiently dispelling heat over the OEM sandwich-mounted intercooler. Designed and engineered by our in-house R&D Team to replace the under-performing stock intercooler, our intercooler is more efficient at cooling the turbocharged air with less pressure drop than stock. The factory tube and fin intercooler is not up to the task of shedding heat efficiently at higher power levels. If you plan to go above stock boost levels an intercooler upgrade is a must. With our ECS Tuning OE-Location Intercooler Upgrade we recorded lower intercooler outlet temperatures, lower pressure drop and an increase in cooling system efficiency.
Our design features high quality cast aluminum end tanks with our massive 25 x 15.8 x 2.55 {+1,000in³} aluminum bar and plate core, which lends to an increase in volume of +113% over the OEM MK8 GTI intercooler, for maximum heat dissipation. Our intercooler was in-house engineered to provide a bolt-on cooling solution for the VW and Audi MQB platform. Through our in-house evaluation on our ECS Shop Golf R, we measured a maximum increase of +37 WHP @ 6,000 RPM and +5 WTQ @ 3,250 RPM along lower intercooler outlet temperatures.

Cast Aluminum End Tanks with machined smooth-flowing inlet and outlet flow-paths
Machined 60mm barbed connections keep hoses secured and minimizes the risk of hoses blowing off and allows compatibility with OEM and ECS intercooler hoses
End tanks are TIG welded to the intercooler core and the complete assembly is pressure tested to 3.5 BAR at 0% leak down to ensure sealing capacity
Cast mounting features are precision machined to ensure quality fitment

The factory EVO4 charge pipe couplers were never designed to handle the stress and abuse of higher boost levels much beyond stock. When combined with power-robbing abrupt, sharp bends and inferior rubber material, it's easy to see why your squishy, OEM intercooler couplers should be replaced, even on stock vehicles.
At ECS Tuning, we're proud to release our very own Silicone Charge Pipe Coupler Kit! Each kit comes standard with silicone, 4-ply reinforced couplers and heavy duty stainless steel T-Bolt hose clamps for an easy, direct fit replacement that won't blow off!
Capable of withstanding greater heat and higher boost pressure than stock, you can expect to achieve greater reliability, less turbulence and less restriction.
This kit replaces all 4 factory intercooler pipe couplers and includes the following:
HIGH FLOW INTERCOOLER CHARGE PIPE KIT:
The factory charge pipes and rubber couplers on your MK8 GTI's 2.0T evo4 engine were never designed to handle the stress and abuse of higher boost levels much beyond stock. When combined with power-robbing abrupt and sharp bends, inferior rubber material, and small diameter tubing, it's easy to see why your intercooler pipes and couplers should be replaced, even on stock engines.
Our in-house designed and engineered High Flow Intercooler Charge Pipe Kit features mandrel bent, bead rolled, powdercoated aluminum plumbing from the outlet of the turbo muffler delete pipe directly to the throttle body, along with smoother flowing silicone couplers, stainless steel T-Bolt clamps and all new installation hardware for an easy, direct bolt on installation.
PART DESIGN
TURBO OUTLET PIPE KIT
Turbo Muffler Delete Pipe - creates a smooth connection from the compressor outlet, directly to our silicone outlet elbow. In addition to smoother airflow it increases turbocharger working sound for glorious turbo noises!
Tubing - 2 3/8" (60mm) OD CNC-mandrel bent aluminum with bead rolled ends and Tig-welded factory-location mounting bracketry. Finished in a durable black powdercoat for long lasting great looks.
Couplers - Fiberglass-reinforced silicone hoses provide the necessary connections while optimizing airflow. Rated to withstand up to 250° F. and 45psi of boost pressure.
Hose Clamps - T-bolt hose clamps provide a strong, secure connection to prevent hose couplers from blowing off.
THROTTLE PIPE KIT
Tubing - 70mm OD CNC-mandrel bent aluminum with bead rolled ends and Tig-welded factory-location MAP sensor flange.
Couplers - Fiberglass-reinforced silicone hoses provide the necessary connections while optimizing airflow. Rated to withstand up to 250° F. and 45psi of boost pressure.
Hose Clamps - T-bolt hose clamps provide a strong, secure connection to prevent hose couplers from blowing off.

Dyno tested on our in-ground Mustang "AWD 500 SE" Dyno on our shop MK8 GTI comparing ECS Turbo Outlet and Throttle Body charge pipes against OEM charge pipes. Our test MK8 GTI was equipped with our ECS Luft-Technik Intake, ECS Big Bore Turbo Inlet, and ECS Tuning Cat Back Exhaust.
