PART DESIGN

CATBACK:

  • In-house designed and engineered using FARO ARM laser scanning technology for precise fitment 

  • 3.0" T304 Stainless Steel Mandrel Bent, Brushed Tubing with 1.25mm wall thickness

  • Dual 2.5" Tailpipe Sections with Tig-Welded Merge Pipe and Laser-Cut ECS Logo Plate 

  • T304 Stainless Steel 12mm barbed round stock exhaust hangers Tig-Welded in OE locations for precise fitment (Note: RR exhaust hanger will need rotated 180 degrees)

  • Strategically placed slip joints provide the most adjustability to obtain perfect fitment

  • VALVED MUFFLER:

    • Tested multiple muffler designs to achieve the most desirable exhaust notes with the largest delta between valve closed and valve open driving experiences 

    • Valve Closed Routing - 3-chamber perforated reduction tubes with stainless steel wool packing material provides a sporty driving experience without causing excessive resonance, volume and performance loss

    • Valve Open Routing - Straight-through 3.0" perforated tube with stainless steel wool packing material provides the most unobstructed flow path for race-inspired driving experience to maximize volume 

    • Vacuum-actuated exhaust valve provides outstanding reliability in the harshest conditions. Unlike electronic servo motors that are prone to failure, our exhaust valves have been tested in thousands of applications and have proven to be reliable. 

  • NON-VALVED MUFFLER:

    • In-House designed to provide a sporty driving experience like no other

    • Perforated core with stainless steel wool packing for sound absorption  

    • Straight Through "Turbo Style" Muffler

    • ?Designed to maximize ground clearance while still being compatible with aftermarket components such as our ECS Tuning Rear Subframe Brace.

 

DOWNPIPE (optional): 

  • In-house designed and engineered using FARO ARM laser scanning technology for precise fitment 

  • 3.0" T304 stainless steel CNC-mandrel bent tubing with 1.5mm wall thickness

  • 10mm thick CNC laser-cut turbine flange prevents heat-warping and is precision ground for optimum gasket sealing capacity 

  • Stainless steel bellow flex section designed to provide a wide range of engine movement and heat expansion

  • 200 Cell high flow metallic catalytic converter 

  • 100% Tig-welded at each joint

  • T304 stainless steel mounting bracket with Tig-welded barbed hangers locate our downpipe to the OEM mounting bracket 

  • Stainless steel oxygen sensor bungs are welded in OE-locations so no extension harness is required. 

    • NOTE: CCTA engines will need to plug the extra O2 bung (CBFA-specific) with the included O2 plug and sealing washer

CATBACK:

  • OE-Downpipe reducer with stainless steel Accuseal style clamps 

  • Muffler Assembly 

  • J-Pipe Assembly and Dual Tailpipes with stainless steel Accuseal clamps 

  • ECS 4.0" Swivel Exhaust Tips (2) - Choose chrome, black chrome or carbon fiber

  • Exhaust Valve Controller Installation Kit with Remote Key Fobs (VALVED SYSTEM ONLY)

    • Remote Key Fobs (2)
    • Valved Solenoid Control Module with wiring harness to connect control module to pneumatic solenoid
    • Pneumatic Control Solenoid 
    • Silicone Vacuum Tubing  (2mm ID x 16.5' length) w/ cable ties and T-tap
    • Brass Tee Fitting (2mm nipple)
    • Vacuum Check Valve (2mm nipple)

 

DOWNPIPE (optional):

  • High-Flow Downpipe Assembly with 200 cell cat

  • Downpipe Installation Kit (gasket, nuts and mounting bracket hardware) 

 

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

CATBACK CONFIGURATIONS: 

Dyno tested on our in-ground Mustang "AWD 500 SE" Dyno with our ECS Tuning Shop MK6 GTI while equipped with our ECS Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake, APR Stage 1 ECU Software and the OEM downpipe. 

  • VALVED SYSTEM: Maximum gains of +9 WHP and +8 FT/Lbs of torque with the exhaust valve "open"

  • NON-VALVED SYSTEM: Maximum gains of +11 WHP and +10 FT/Lbs of torque

 

TURBO BACK CONFIGURATIONS:

 Dyno tested on our in-ground Mustang "AWD 500 SE" Dyno with our ECS Tuning Shop MK6 GTI when bolting on just our Catback Exhaust System while equipped with our ECS Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake, ECS 3.0" High Flow Downpipe and APR Stage 2 ECU Software

  • VALVED SYSTEM: Maximum gains of +11 WHP and +10 FT/Lbs of torque with the exhaust valve "open" 
    • ?5 pounds / 12% total weight reduction compared to the stock turbo-back exhaust system 
      • OEM Turbo-Back (downpipe and catback) - 57 lbs
      • ECS Turbo-Back (downpipe, catback, tips, clamps) - 52 lbs 
  • NON-VALVED SYSTEM: Maximum gains of +11 WHP and +20 FT/Lbs of torque 
    • 9 pounds / 15% total weight reduction compared to the stock turbo-back exhaust system 
      • OEM Turbo-Back (downpipe and catback) - 57 lbs
      • ECS Turbo-Back (downpipe, catback, tips, clamps) - 48 lbs

  • Our ECS Tuning Exhaust Systems were designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.
