The IS38 turbo from the MK7 R is a very popular upgrade amongst MK7 GTI owners due to being a direct fit to gain tremendous power. This is why the team at ECS meticulously assembled this kit for MK8 GTI owners to do the same! The research and development team at ECS installed this exact kit on our shop MK8 GTI to ensure we have included every piece necessary to complete the turbo swap!
ECU tuning is required to utilize this upgrade. There is currently no software available for this upgrade. ECS Tuning will offer the necessary software when it becomes available!
It is highly recommended to also upgrade your intake, intercooler to achieve the most possible power and reliability. It will also be a possibility to upgrade your clutch depending on the health of your stock unit and your driving habits. DSG owners are also recommended to perform a DSG TCU performance software upgrade.
