The N428 oil pressure regulation valve is bolted into the front edge of the cylinder block and below the accessory bracket.  The ECM engages the solenoid valve to switch between low and high oil pressure stages.  When activated, the solenoid valve moves and oil flows through the control valve ports.  The oil acts on the control piston, moving the slide unit and changing the pump pressure characteristics.
