This gasket seals the timing cover to the engine, to ensure that dirt, debris, or water does not enter the timing chain area and cause premature wear or damaged. This gasket is recommended to be replaced any time the timing cover is removed, as it tends to fall apart during removal.
* This part is designed for the FSI engine only. This can easily be found on the engine cover of your 2.0T VW/Audi. It will clearly be stamped FSI (not TFSI).
