Upper Tensioner Guide Rail

Keeping tension on your timing chain is imperative for keeping the camshafts turning properly. The guide rails in your timing set keeps everything tracking properly. Although, these rails are made out of a plastic-like material, years of abrasion can wear parts of it away. If the chain develops poor tension, the proper timing set can skip a tooth. This could potentially result in catastrophic damage ruining the engine. Replace the tensioner / guide rail at the first sign of wear to prevent sever engine damage.
